The Society of Hungarian Graphic Designers and Typographers (MATT) has been founded to initiate professional dialogues and to organize events for the benefit of the visual culture in Hungary. We organize exhibitions and design competitions. We make digital and printed publications on design and typography. We plan to invite speakers and lecturers from the World to bring the international mainstream and cutting-edge design closer to our country. Our goal is not only to raise the standards of local graphic design but to enhance design awareness in non-professional circles alike. Thus, we hope to help Hungarian design gain increasing local and international recognition. We elaborated a Code of Ethics that help our members set up and clarify general standards for their professional activity. For a more effective protection of professional interests and quality design, MATT wishes to promote the future establishment of a legitimate chamber of graphic designers. We try to do our best to diminish non-professional activity and to stop visual pollution. Designers and typographers are welcome to join our club regardless of style or field of activity.
